Through these gates the young men and women of Canada enter the hallowed halls of brainwashing and compliance at the Royal Military College of Canada. Being a naval type I opted for a titch of Royal Roads, which was a west coast military college until the powers that be sold it for a buck.

Yup. $1. Barf...

RMC is located on Point Frederick, a small peninsula at the point where the St. Lawrence River leaves Lake Ontario and where the Rideau Canal System starts. The location has been an active military base since 1789 and was an important naval base during the War of 1812. Additional military fortifications near by are Fort Frontenac, originally established in 1673 across the Rideau River from Point Frederick and Ft Henry, constructed between 1832-36.

I visited one of the four Martello Towers that formed part of the defenses of Fort Frederick, which protected the Kingston Naval dockyard.

Besides having a lot of steam engines, boilers and stuff, the Pump House Steam Museum in Kingston is also home to the train set that was used on the Friendly Giant.

I, of course, am too young to have watched Bob Homme as the Friendly Giant with his sidekicks Jerome the giraffe and Rusty the rooster.

Researchers projected men's sense of self into a virtual reality woman, changing the way they behaved and thought. Researchers projected men's sense of self into a virtual reality woman, changing the way they behaved and thought. Men who took part in the virtual reality experiment said it felt as if they occupied the woman's body. They even flinched when she was slapped.

"If you can temporarily give people the illusion that their bodies are different, then the evidence suggests it also affects their behaviour and the way they think. They can have new experiences: a person who is thin can know what it's like to be fat. A man can have an experience of what it's like to be a woman."

The Alachua County Sheriff's Office on Monday released a 911 call in which a woman told a dispatcher she had been dating Eddy for several weeks and that he was aware she was a transgender individual. But when others found out, she said he "freaked out" about it.

"He started beating me up in front of everybody," the 33-year-old woman said.

Police reported Eddy adamantly denied he knew his girlfriend was transgender and planned to "create a show" so he could "reclaim his pride" with his family.

A decision to treat the case as a hate crime will be up to prosecutors, police spokesman Cpl. Tscharna Senn said.

According to Wikipedia, Taraxacum officinale, the Common Dandelion (often simply called "dandelion"), is a herbaceous perennial plant of the family Asteraceae (Compositae).

T. officinale
is considered a weedy species, especially in lawns and along roadsides, but it is sometimes used as a medical herb and in food preparation. As a nearly cosmopolitan weed, Dandelion is best known for its yellow flower heads, that turn into round balls of silver tufted fruits, that blow away on the wind.

Bosh, they are neither dandy or lions...
