Meals Ready to Eat are both anticipated and dreaded – anticipated as you are hungry and dreaded as the composite items are either quite delicious or almost unpalatable crap.

Yum – ham diner with mustard sauce sounds good.

Bread in a bad does not sound so great – the admonishment to not eat it supports this theory, no?

The dreaded omelette with mushroom sauce. It’s quite dreadful.

Yum.

Just what we need in combat – a little treat from Baskin Robbins.

And of course a feed back form that one will be highly unlikely to have the time to fill out while in combat.

Well, you don't really dispose of these beasties, so much as try to keep their fangs trimmed and ready to go.

On an allied note: nobody seems to have set up an overarching heraldry-search system for these sorts of insignia: enough to say that these flashes belong on mess dress, not battle dress.

...and all that costume jewellery on these army DEUs are a decided FOD hazard on an air force parade square flightline.
