Why I drove 800 kilometers to see the beach.

Documenting my life is just one of the reasons that I have my journal - I could accomplish the same thing by making it all private but I'd miss the benefit of the advice and humour that people offer me. Anyhow - I took my 13 1/2 year old son on the trip to Pacific Rim National Park - he had never been there and I wanted to give him the experience of what it's all about - from Dad's perspective. Wierd? Not to me - he does not know who I am becoming and I want to leave him good memories to latch onto when he has to process and deal with the knowledge... 12:30 Saturday 27 October 2007 Parking lot at Wickanish Beach. Stir fried chicken and Udon noodles. I am, after all rather creative and enjoy being civilized when possible!

I took him to Wick Beach, South Beah, Lismer Cove, Long Beach, Chesterman Beach, Little Beach, Big Beach and to Amphrite Point. Busy.... also took time to carve a pumpkin and listen to him. I'm not sure if my idea will pay off but it was something that was very important to me and I want to share this small moment in my life and a bit of who I was - one last time.
