Wasps and peeing?

There must be a mistake, no?

No.

I'm highly allergic to insect bites, particularly to wasps where one bite is serious, two or more can be fatal. It’s all about anaphylactic shock - systemic vasodilation which results in low blood pressure, severe bronchoconstriction to the point where I am unable to breathe.

The normal treatment is a jab with my auto-injector and get to the hospital to be hooked up to an IV for the administration of epinephrine, antihistamines and steroids. On this latest occasion I could not find my auto-injector (which was in a pocket of my pack) and holy moly – I was freaking.

Despite my efforts to the contrary I survived my latest wasp bite episode - I was however given a rather pointed and stern talking to by an ER nurse for driving to the hospital and for not having my Epipen at hand - purrrrrrrrrr.

After 6 to 24 hours in observation I can be released with a prescription for two weeks on Prednisolone, a steroidal anti-inflammatory. Anyhow - the real downside here is that I pee every two hours at night when on Prednisolone.

The pizza I picked up on the way home was awful yummy though!
