I can pop a filter my Nikons and capture images in the IR spectrum but I still have to post process them to get rid of a freakish purple cast.

Oh yeah!! Very nice.

I didn't know the Nikon was so adaptable. Most dSLR's have to be shop modified to remove the IR filter. The high-end astrophotography folk will often use a modified camera for their work.

Steve Wrotniak is a great resource for IR information.
