MREs

Meals Ready to Eat are both anticipated and dreaded – anticipated as you are hungry and dreaded as the composite items are either quite delicious or almost unpalatable crap.

Yum – ham diner with mustard sauce sounds good.

Bread in a bad does not sound so great – the admonishment to not eat it supports this theory, no?

The dreaded omelette with mushroom sauce. It’s quite dreadful.

Yum.

Just what we need in combat – a little treat from Baskin Robbins.

And of course a feed back form that one will be highly unlikely to have the time to fill out while in combat.

Oh, they're quite safe for up to (I think) 5 years from packaging date. Usually. (ask if you really want the story)

Oh, from prior bitter experience over there I do, alas, know more of the story on true versus claimed shelf life. :/

Now that I am very much retired, it's all moot. Enjoy your swiss steak!

I'll check the expiry date on the packages - perhaps it will be along the lines of that for Twinky's - never.
